Dee Spills the Tea:

I looked for a book l’affair Annabelle. I couldn’t find one and I don’t think it was a real book. But there was a movie called The Affairs of Annabel, a 1938 comedy starring Lucille Ball. There was also a 1931 movie called Anabelle’s affairs, which starred Jeanette McDonald. Both of these movies were comedies, which the book l’affair Annabelle certainly was not.

Dee Spills the Tea:

John Larkin (Jay Fenton) played the role of Perry Mason on the radio. The show was broadcast ON cbs radio, Monday through Friday in a 15-minute time slot, Larkin played Perry starting in 1947 and remained with the role for eight-and-a-half years until the program's conclusion in December 1955.

You can listen to these radio shows on youtube. When I looked at the site, there was a picture of Raymond Burr not John Larkin, but Raymond Burr never played Mason on the radio.

Dee Spills the Tea:

I’m spilling tea today about William Campbell aka Jim Ferris. Lesser know about Campbell were his charity efforts. His favorite charity was The Motion Picture & Television Fund. This was a charitable organization that offered assistance and care to those in the motion picture industry with limited or no resources. As part of his fundraising efforts, Campbell founded "FantastiCon" in 1996. This was an annual science fiction and fantasy convention. It was held annually for several years. Unfortunately, upon Campbell’s failing health, the convention became defunct.

So he wasn’t a real stinker after all. But that’s why they call it acting.

Email!

Hi, Dee and April.

I just discovered your podcast and listened to the first episode. I loved it! I told my wife about it and we are putting your podcast on our list to listen to together. My wife and I are both huge fans of the old Perry Mason show. We were born in the late 60s, just after the show ended, so never got to see them as they were first being run. But we both had parents who loved good mystery and grew up watching Perry and Columbo and so on. We have the whole series on DVD and I'm pretty sure have seen all the episodes at least once on TV over the years, but have been slowly going through the DVDs watching them in order. I think we're up through season 7 and even though we fell off the wagon a bit we're looking to get back into it this fall. Anyway, I loved hearing the two of you talk about the show, keeping it real as just a couple of regular fans like my wife and I are. We will be listening to your show, catching up on the older ones first, but just wanted to let you know you are doing great and I appreciate the work you're putting into it.

Best to you both,

Dan
