TCOT Podcast Episode 082 - Blushing Pearls
Season 3 - Episode 4
Originally aired - October 24, 1959
Japan's surrender at the end of World War II was a result of multiple factors, including the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Soviet Union's declaration of war, and the devastating impact of the war on the Japanese mainland. The surrender ceremony took place on September 2, 1945, aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay, officially ending the war in Asia.
The Case of the Podcast is a Perry Mason Fan Podcast. We love and enjoy episodes from a tv show from the late 1950’s and early 1960. It’s so old, it was filmed in Black & White.
This is an episode from season 3 that we are choosing at random using a random number generator. We will be choosing our episodes this way season by season. We’re excited by this new process which will give each season a chance to shine.

Dee Spills the Tea:
One of the few black people you’ll ever see on PM – William Walker – Five interesting facts
- William Walker was the grandson of slaves.
- Best known as Rev. Sykes in To Kill a Mockingbird.
- Gregory Peck won an academy award for his portrayal of the attorney Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird. In his acceptance speech, he singled out Walker for his contribution to the film.
- Walker was most proud of his membership in the Screen Actors Guild, where he served on the board for over 20 years. He boasted about being “speaking cousins” with Ronald Reagan who served as SAG president. In 1953 with Reagan at his side, Walker pleaded with a gathering of Hollywood producers to hire more black actors.
- He was quoted as saying “I had a lot of arguments with directors. Most of them knew nothing about how a Negro feels, how he lives, what he thinks.”
Where Do They Go From Here?:
Mitsu and Toma are together. Does Grove marry Alice and take over the business? Mr. Nagoto should go to jail.
