Perry and Della’s love life (or lack thereof)
The character of Hamilton Burger temporarily disappeared from the TV series during the series' third season. Talman was fired by CBS March 18, 1960, hours after he entered a not-guilty plea to misdemeanor charges related to his presence at a party that was raided by police.
March 14 1960 newspaper Associated Press said that raiders found Talman and others nude or partly nude and “all were high on marijuana”
Eight people were booked on suspicion of possession of marijuana and lewd Vagrancy, a morals count.
The charges were dismissed in June that same year, but the network still didn’t re-hire him. It wasn’t until Earl Stanley Gardner (the creator) himself spoke out, together with millions of viewers that the network brought Talman back to work in December 1960.
Next episode will be TCOT Crimson Kiss
