Filming of the show took place on Stage 8 at the 20th Century-Fox studios near Western Avenue and Sunset Boulevard and at CBS Studio Center, with at least one location in each episode.
Burr, was forty when production started in 1957, and he spent the next decade tied to his work on the show. He typically worked six days a week and more than 12 hours a day. Sources reveal he lived in a Bungalow on the studio lot.
The renovated space, which was originally built for Shirley Temple, included a full kitchen, a combination living room/bedroom, a large dressing room with a cedar-lined walk-in closet, and a bathroom.
