Dee Spills the Tea: Guess who Mike Preston was married to IRL

Bill Williams (Preston), whose real name was Herman August Wilhelm Katt was married to actress Barbara Hale – our beloved Della Street! They met during the filming of West of the Pecos and married on June 22, 1946. They had two daughters, Jodi and Juanita, and a son, actor William Katt who you might remember from the tv show the Greatest American Hero. Williams appeared on three other episodes of Perry Mason (which we haven’t reviewed yet). He also appeared with his son, William Katt, in a final season episode of Ironside, bringing him together again with Raymond Burr.

TCOT Playboy Pugilist

Hi April and Dee,

I listen to your podcast on Spotify and absolutely love it. I am a huge Perry Mason fan and also love the style, clothes, cars, background settings, decor, etc. found in this show.

Last night I was watching TCOT Playboy Pugilist Season 6 Ep 3 and wondered if you had covered this one yet? The characters are so interesting, also some bad overacting when the final reveal admits their guilt. I'd love to hear your take on the characters of Lori Richards and Jo Sands!

Thanks for brightening my day and my commute!

Joan

Huston
After a 1968 television guest appearance, Huston paused her acting career for 17 years. Huston stated in an interview in the mid-1980s that she spent this hiatus primarily raising her son and working part-time jobs, at one point going on welfare. A program for welfare recipients led to Huston securing a job as a phone operator at an institution, where she eventually became an administrator.
